This year’s SPB66 North America mini-reunion was attended by a total of 22 alumni – 1 from Hong Kong, 5 from USA and 2 from out-of-town made a special trip to Toronto to participate.

The venue chosen, Empire Court, is one of the very upscale and authentic Chinese restaurants in Toronto. The evening’s program comprises two parts: an optional Happy Hour and the formal dinner.

During Happy Hour, old classmates mingled to enjoy cocktails over which connections with long-lost friends were re-established and notes on careers and families exchanged. The formal dinner consisted of ten food items that were exquisitely designed by Empire Court’s renowned culinary master, Chef Joseph Ho. Each entrée was individually plated and served.

For dinner, the restaurant managed to seat all 22 of us around a long rectangular table in a privately secluded room where we could face each other. This seating arrangement enabled conversations to be exchanged individually between adjacent guests and to flow freely across the table as a group so that others could join in at the same time on topics of common interest. The room was filled with jokes, laughter and at times mischief throughout the entire evening. It brought back fond memories of the good old days at SPC.

Candid pictures were taken of smaller groups and will be posted onto the SPB66 Blog #68.
