subject Thank you from the TW team SPC66

Dear ALL,

Thank you for your support in the Oxfam Trailwalker charity hike over the weekend of November 7-9, 2008.

Trekking up and down all 22 hills of the 100 kilometer Maclehose Trail, including Tai Mo Shan the highest hill in Hong Kong, was quite a challenge.
This year the weather also posed challenges, as the first day was very hot (33C) with humidity over 90%, and the last evening was only 13C and very windy.

There were 968 teams of 4 members each, totalling in 3,872 participants. The average age was 33 and only 55% of the participants completed the 100 kilo- meters as a team.

We are very happy to report that our team did very well. All 4 of us completed the entire 100 kilometer course together in good spirits. We took 47 hours 25 minutes and gained recognition as the oldest first timers to attempt and successfully complete the Maclehose Trail.

Thank you again for your kindness and support.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Yours gratefully,

TW team SPC66

Thank You for Your Presence at Our Reunion Dinner -- Nov 3

Dear Dr. Kennard,

On behalf of our Class 66 Alumni we would like to thank you whole-heartedly for allowing us to hold our Reunion Dinner in the newly refurbished room on the First Floor of Wong Ming Him Hall. Also we are doubly exhilarated by your presence as our Guest of Honour. We do hope both you and Mrs. Kennard had enjoyed the evening and shared our reminiscence ( after over 40 years ) of our formative years of budding at St. Paul's. We felt the evening particularly memorable as we had all taken our first lessons literally at the same site. We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our Vice-Principal, Mr. Michael Mak and School Archivist, Miss Josephine Ho for their kind assistance with the fine arrangements of the evening. Please do convey to them our most sincere well-wishes.

We are much inspired by your speech informing us on the latest development of our Alma Mater. We are so glad to hear of the 3 main goals of our school : -

- Academic Excellence
- International Perspectives, and
- Community Awareness .

As Alumni ( and possibly past/present parents ) we do share the same vision that these will lay a good foundation for the growth and development of our young school-mates in the Twenty-First Century.

We are so delighted that, through our Reunion, we could gather a strong momentum to generate something more concrete to benefit our Alma Mater. You may be pleased to know that we are now in the process of marshalling voluntary donations from our Class 66 cohort which will, hopefully contribute a substantial amount to add on to the newly established Education Foundation of our School. Also we are much excited to know of the forthcoming Stewart Dinner on December 6, 2008 in commemoration of the 50 years after the passing away of our former Principal, Col. E. G. Stewart. We are looking forward to meet his son, Col. Michael Stewart on that evening.

We truly feel that our life-long bondage with our Alma Mater is further rekindled. Please do keep us informed of the latest developments of both our School as well as Alumni activities so that this big family could be further unified and strengthened.

We are all so proud of being a member of our St. Paul's Big Family.

God Bless St. Paul's ! Viva Viva St. Paul's

Yours sincerely,

TSE Sik-Yan

spb66 #74: Grace Giving at the Reunion Dinner

From: Jacob Leung (SEC)

Subject: RE: Grace Giving at the Reunion Dinner
Date: Thursday, November 6, 2008, 3:45 AM

The Prayer

Our Heavenly Father, Creator of the Universe,

We thank you for bringing us back to St. Paul's College, our Alma Mater, to have reunion this evening with our fellow students and our respected Principal and teachers.

We thank you for all that we have learnt at St. Paul's more than forty years ago, for the life-enriching education, and for our excellent physical, intellectual, social and spiritual developments since our formative years in these buildings.

Due to your loving care and guidance and your truly amazing plan for each one of us, we gather here this evening from Hong Kong and afar to celebrate this reunion and to share with each other our experiences and accomplishments.

Dear Lord, we commit ourselves to being fully alive to your call and challenges, and to be ever-growing in Christian discipleship and brotherly love.

We thank you for the food and the fellowship this evening. Give us health, strength, faith and wisdom that we may continue to live a life that will glorify you and benefit humankind.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Best regards,

Jacob
