Starting point is Hok Tau (in middle of map marked with a red circle)
Ending point is Ting Kok (at lower right corner of the map)
(please click at the map to enlarge it if necessary).
Assembly time & place:
May 1, 2007 at 8:30 am
Fanling Railway Station concourse
outside the ticket turnstile.
From there we can catch taxis or minibus to Hok Tau to start the walk.
(To reach Fanling Railway Station on time, anyone catching the MTR from Admiralty on the Hong Kong side should get on the MTR by 7.20 am.
PLEASE DON'T WAIT AT ADMIRALTY)
Please take at least 1.5 Litres of water, and a pack lunch. And umbrellas, hats, sunglasses and sunblock.
Hiking route:
The walk is along a paved road at the start for half an hour, then it becomes a little steep as we leave Hok Tau reservoir, but after another half hour or so, it becomes a ridge walk (undulating up and down), so it's not a difficult walk.
The views on a clear day are stupendous.
Total journey takes about 6 hours.
End point is Ting Kok (Tai Mei Tuk). We shall take taxi to Tai Po Railway Station.
